Business Roundtable Announces Promotions, New Hires

Washington – Business Roundtable today announced four staff changes made in recent months that have strengthened the CEO association’s communications and policy efforts. Rayna Farrell has been promoted to Vice President of Communications; Scott Farnham has been promoted to Director of Policy; and Donald McIntosh and Katie Sarro join the Roundtable as Directors of Policy.

“We are pleased to promote Rayna and Scott and welcome Donald and Katie to new positions at Business Roundtable,” said Business Roundtable President & CEO Joshua Bolten. “Rayna and Scott have proven to be key assets in our communications and policy efforts, and both Donald and Katie bring a wealth of knowledge to our policy team. These personnel enhancements will allow Business Roundtable to advocate and communicate more effectively for policies that promote economic growth and expanded opportunity in the United States.”

Rayna V. Farrell is promoted to Vice President, Communications. Farrell previously served as a Senior Director at Business Roundtable, leading media outreach, member communications and communications initiatives for the organization. Most recently, she worked on the Roundtable’s updated Statement on the Purpose of a Corporation. Prior to joining Business Roundtable, Farrell worked for the government relations firm Mehlman Castagnetti Rosen & Thomas, where she helped clients develop strategies and build relationships with policymakers in Congress.

Scott Farnham is promoted to Director, Policy. He previously served as a Manager at Business Roundtable, and helped lead the Roundtable's efforts on trade policy. Prior to joining Business Roundtable, Farnham was an Associate Economist at the Institute of International Finance (IIF) and helped oversee IIF’s work on political risk. He is a graduate of Northeastern University, where he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in political science and economics.  

Donald McIntosh joins Business Roundtable as Director, Policy. McIntosh previously served as chief of staff and chief counsel to Commissioner and Acting Chair Victoria A. Lipnic of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, where he provided counsel with respect to all matters and aspects of agency business. Earlier in his career, McIntosh served on the professional staff of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, focusing on employment-related issues. He also practiced employment law in the Washington, D.C., area.

Katie Sarro joins Business Roundtable as Director, Policy. Sarro previously served as a senior policy director at the Council on Competitiveness where she managed the association’s energy and manufacturing portfolio. Prior to the Council on Competitiveness, she worked as an account manager at a communications and public affairs firm in Washington, DC, where she developed and implemented strategies for public and private sector clients including the Government of Guyana and the Ohio Manufacturers' Association. Sarro began her career at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).
