Washington - Business Roundtable CEO Joshua Bolten today released the following statement on the anniversary of the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol:
“The peaceful transfer of power is a hallmark of our democracy. The lawless and violent attack on the U.S. Capitol one year ago today was an assault on American democracy, which Business Roundtable condemned at the time. Today, we reiterate our strong condemnation of the perpetrators and the falsehood of an illegitimate 2020 presidential election.
“January 6 is a day for recommitting ourselves to the principles of our democracy and for honoring the heroes who saved lives and fought to protect the Capitol on that tragic day.”
