CEO COVID-19 Task Force Business Roundtable Statement on White House COVID-19 Vaccination, Testing Announcement

Sep 9, 2021

Washington – Business Roundtable President & CEO Joshua Bolten today released the following statement after the White House announcement of new vaccination-related requirements for the federal government and private sector employers.

“Business Roundtable welcomes the Biden Administration’s continued vigilance in the fight against COVID. America’s business leaders know how critical vaccination and testing are in defeating the pandemic, which is why so many have invested resources in encouraging and incentivizing their customers and employees to get vaccinated, including providing paid time off. Over the past several weeks many companies have decided to implement a vaccine mandate for some or all of their employees, a decision we applaud.
“Business Roundtable looks forward to continue working with the Administration and leaders across all levels of government to defeat the pandemic.”

Business Roundtable and its members continue to lead and support efforts to educate the public to build vaccine confidence and increase uptake, including through a partnership with leading health, business and communications organizations. In February, the Roundtable launched “Move the Needle,” a campaign to support the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines and promote vaccination.
