CEO COVID-19 Task Force Business Roundtable Statement on White House Meeting with Business Leaders on Vaccination and Testing Mandate

Sep 15, 2021

Washington – Business Roundtable President & CEO Joshua Bolten today participated in a meeting at the White House with President Biden, senior Administration officials and other business leaders to discuss the new vaccination and testing mandate for the federal government and private sector employers. Following the meeting, Bolten released this statement:

“Business Roundtable applauds the Administration for its leadership and continued efforts to defeat the pandemic. We share the Administration’s goal of getting as many eligible Americans vaccinated as quickly as possible, which is key to combatting COVID, keeping vulnerable Americans safe and accelerating the economic recovery. We thank President Biden for convening stakeholders today to discuss the vaccination and testing mandate.

“There are a number of details to sort out regarding the policy, and today’s meeting was an important step toward that objective. As the Administration continues to roll out the policy and questions emerge, we look forward to working with the White House and the Department of Labor to address them.”

Business Roundtable and its members continue to lead and support efforts to educate the public to build vaccine confidence and increase uptake, including through a partnership with leading health, business and communications organizations. In February, the Roundtable launched “Move the Needle,” a campaign to support the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines and promote vaccination. For more information, click here
