Technology New Report: Business Roundtable Companies Put AI Recommendations into Practice

Washington – Business Roundtable today released a new report showcasing how leading U.S. companies are developing and deploying artificial intelligence (AI) responsibly across industries and sectors.

“AI Innovation at Work: Putting Principles into Practice” is a follow-up to the Roundtable’s January 2022 “Roadmap for Responsible AI” (RAI) that outlined principles to guide businesses’ responsible development, deployment and use of AI technology. The report examines how Business Roundtable member companies are using AI to provide direct benefits to consumers, place humans at the center of AI innovation, enhance trustworthiness of AI systems and institutionalize responsible AI governance.

"A year after releasing our Roadmap for RAI, Business Roundtable member companies are leading the way in putting the 10 core AI principles outlined in the Roadmap into action,” said Alfred F. Kelly, Jr., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Visa and Chair of the Business Roundtable Technology Committee. “Roundtable leaders are embracing the tremendous potential of responsible AI and continue to deploy AI solutions that benefit consumers and the communities in which they operate. Importantly, business leaders also recognize the best AI applications create these benefits by augmenting—not replacing—human capabilities and decision-making.”

The report is available here and highlights the ways 10 Business Roundtable member companies are integrating responsible AI principles into their day-to-day operations, including Accenture, Booz Allen, Dell Technologies, GM, Honeywell, IBM, Johnson Controls, SAP, SAS, and Visa.
