Washington – Business Roundtable today released the following statement regarding trade negotiations between the United States and China:
“Business Roundtable welcomes the announcement that a ‘Phase One’ agreement has been reached between the U.S. and China that begins to level the playing field for American workers and businesses and rolls back tariffs. This de-escalation in trade tensions is a positive step toward resolving important trade and investment issues between our two nations.
"Business Roundtable urges both governments to continue progress toward additional structural reforms in China and tariff relief. We encourage the U.S. to work with allies to strengthen and sustain such reforms. We look forward to reviewing the details of this agreement and the CEO members of Business Roundtable stand ready to assist in achieving successful outcomes.”
